About GCCMH

We are Genesee County's manager of Medicaid supports and services for:

  • Adults with serious mental illness 
  • Children with serious emotional disturbance
  • People with developmental disabilities
  • People with substance use disorders

We especially strive to serve individuals with co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse problems.

As the local Community Mental Health (CMH) and Substance Abuse Coordinating Agency (CA) for Genesee County, we also provide services to uninsured or underinsured people who meet medical criteria.

Primary Clinician Training 2011
Monday, January 30, 2012

Primary Clinician Training 2011 is now available online. You will have until March 30, 2012 to complete it.  There are eleven individual modules. You are required to watch each module (QOC module does not have a video) and take a brief test afterwards. You are a Primary Clinician if you are responsible for the Individual Plan of Service (IPOS).  Secondary program staff is not required to take this training.  Visit the OPSC to get to Primary Clinician Training 2011 and the On-Line Test Guide for Instructions.

Letter mailed regarding personal health information

Recently a laptop computer was stolen from the home of a contractual employee of Genesee County CMH that provides Speech Therapy. This computer was double password protected so we are fairly confident that the information is secure. We have notified all clients who could be affected by mail. The number of clients affected was 390. Questions can be directed to Lisa Shumpert, Corporate Compliance Officer at 810-424-6061. A copy of the letter that went out can be found here.
