How to Apply for a Position

Applications can be faxed or mailed to the Human Resources Office and must be completely filled out, even if you are attaching a resumé. Please do not e-mail applications, as your signature is required on the application. PLEASE NOTE: You must submit all required documentation (copy of college transcripts, certifications, etc.) with your application to continue in the selection process. If you are mailing a resumé to apply for a position, it must include the following information in the Work Experience/Employer Information area:  Name of employer, month/year you were hired, month/year you left, if the position was part-time or full-time, and the job duties you performed while in the position.

Hiring Procedures and Standards:  Applications are not reviewed until after the posting period has expired. Applications are thoroughly screened on the basis of job-related criteria such as skill level, work experience, education, and training. “Experience” means full-time, paid experience unless the announcement states that volunteer experience is acceptable. Education requirements must be met by the close of the posting period. The most qualified applicants are referred for interviews. Candidates will be notified by mail of their standings. Scores and standings on eligibility lists will not be given over the phone.

Veterans must submit Form DD214 to determine eligibility for Veterans’ Preference.
