Information on Common Diagnoses

Our consumers face many different types of mental health and substance use disorder issues. To help consumers and their families better understand diagnoses, we have compiled a few links to professional sites which have reliable information on several common disorders.

Diagnoses are commonly decided after a trained medical professional interviews a person and compares their symptoms to the types of illnesses and symptoms written in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fourth Edition (DSM-IV). A person's symptoms may change over time, leading to changing diagnoses.
